Job Description

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks an experienced and results-oriented Leave of Absence Administrator to perform all tasks associated with the review, approval/denial and communication and payment of leaves of absence. In this highly visible and customer-driven role, you will be responsible for ensuring all Leaves are processed within the Hospital's policy guidelines and in accordance with all regulatory requirements. You will also work closely with a variety of HR colleagues and customers including Employee Relations, Benefits, Payroll, Occupational Health and outside vendors in managing the FMLA, NY Paid Family Leave, Short-Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Workers' Compensation programs. You will administer the payroll for all employees on approved leaves of absences, ensuring payments consistent with policy and applicable laws. In addition, you will serve as the main point of contact for employees and managers with inquiries regarding Hospital Leave policies and individual Disability and Paid Family Leave claims. You will provide support, address questions or issues regarding leaves of absence and other benefits to employees and managers.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years payroll experience (Kronos/Dimensions preferred), as well as experience working with leave management. Candidate should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of regulations concerning FMLA, ADA, HIPPAA, FLSA, COBRA etc.

Strong computer skills including familiarity with HRIS (Lawson preferred) and Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel is also required. Strong organizational skills required. Superior customer service skills including excellent verbal and written communication will be essential. Bachelor's Degree highly desirable.
