Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Facilities Engineer & Project Manager leads facility, utility, and general infrastructure engineering and construction projects from design inception through release to Operations and provides daily engineering support to facilities and utilities operations.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

The Facilities Engineer & Project Manager is part of the Engineering group and reports directly to the Senior Plant Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

  1. Capital Project Management
    1. Lead cross-functional project teams to design, build, commission (validate) facility and utility improvement and construction capital projects
    2. Develop, manage, and track project time-lines and project capital budgets
    3. Maintain all site-mandated cGMP and safety requirements during all phases of construction and qualification
    4. Write and execute validation and commissioning protocols
    5. Produce and maintain documentation related to the project, including: Change controls, PO requests, project schedules, sketches and drawings to assist in project execution
  2. Facilities Engineering Support
    1. Provide day to day engineering support to Facilities Maintenance Technicians for all facilities and utilities operations, maintenance, and repair activity.
    2. Manage contractors to provide repair and installation services as required.
    3. Manage utility loads to ensure adequate system capacity and input to the capital plan when additional capacity is expected to be needed in the future.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelors degree in a mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering, a bachelors degree in a technical discipline with 3 years of facilities or construction related experience, or an associates degree in a technical discipline with 5 years of facilities or construction related experience, or a high school degree with 10 years of facilities or construction related experience.

This role requires strong technical writing and communication skills, the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, and proficiency with a currently supported version of AutoCAD, MS Excel and Word. The ability to handle


multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment is necessary for success.

Experience in a regulated industry is preferred.

This role will offer a base salary that is commensurate with experience and demonstrated skills in the $80,000 - $90,000 range.
