We are seeking a licensed veterinary technician with an interest in large animal medicine to join our valued Nursing Care Team to work evening and overnight hours during the week and weekend. With dedication to weekend duties, compensation will include both shift and differential pay.


As part of this highly knowledgeable and adaptable group, you will have the opportunity to

  • Exercise an independent and self-motivated spirit.
  • Participate in a team-based approach to excellent patient care.
  • Triage emergencies plus initiate stabilization and treatments.
  • Manage nursing care of all patients, including those that are critically ill.
  • Always be challenged with our diverse caseload from horses and cows to sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, pigs and sometimes reindeer and camels.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the education of veterinary students, interns and residents.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and medical procedures using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques: bloodwork, ultrasound, endoscopy, radiographs, critical care monitoring and more.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited institution, plus NYS Licensure or eligible to be licensed in New York Sate
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn the patient tracking software.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously while under pressure and paying close attention to details.
  • Candidate must have the ability to meet the physical demands of the position, which includes, but are not limited to, stressful situations, prolonged standing and kneeling, as well as lifting and restraining patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience as a licensed vet technician (preferably with farm animals, or other working experience with farm animals).
