Overview

The Corporate Bank was established in July 2019 and is now organized in four segments: Corporate Treasury Services, Institutional Client Services, Business Banking, and Functions. You will be part of the Regulatory Compliance & Financial Crime Risk Governance Team within the Corporate Bank (CB) Divisional Control Office (DCO). You will focus on the Financial Crime and Compliance risk types across CB, specifically as they relate to Third Party Monitor Reviews, Regulatory Exams, and Internal Audit Reviews, as well as remediation activities across the CB portfolio. In this role you will interface directly with both, Product Business Control Officers (BCO) and Central Teams within CB DCO, as well as key stakeholders in the Business, Operations, and Technology teams within first line of defense (1LOD). You will be the central point of contact for key partners in second line of defense (2LOD) in the Financial Crime, Compliance, and Regulatory Management groups, and Transformation & Remediation Office to support effective engagement, coordination of regulatory exams, and interface with third party regulators on behalf of CB.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and Coordinate Regulatory Exams, internal and external audit reviews, interface with third party regulators & auditors on behalf of corporate Bank; monitor engagement, impact assessments across CB products based on external (e.g., regulatory changes, industry standards, lessons learnt) and internal (e.g., Quality Assurance, SSIs, Audits, Metrics) events

  • Contribute to the engagement model with 2LOD / Anti-Financial Crime (specifically Sanctions & Embargoes (S&E) and Name List Screening (NLS)) as Corporate Bank representative and advise CB Business units / BCOs on risk assessment at a portfolio level, Sanctions themes impacting Corporate Bank, and core elements of the control framework, including NLS

  • Review, consider and opine on S&E related risk assessment (i.e., Threat & Scenario Analysis), identify coverage gaps, assess their materiality, and contribute to the solution for closure / remediation in partnership with AFC, CB Business units / BCOs, and Product Management

  • Contribute to execution of the dynamic Financial Crime Risk (dFCR) framework and assurance of Key Controls, as well as to identification, definition, and implementation of risk metrics to help measure and manage Financial Crime risk types across CB

  • Closely collaborate with FCR Governance team to drive and ensure S&E framework and Key Controls (including NLS) are consistent and complementary with overall financial crime risk framework and Minimum Control Standards

  • Represent CB DCO Financial Crime Risk Governance and business at appropriate levels (Working Group, OpCo, Workstream) for defined regulatory commitments, ensuring appropriate business input and delivery of key milestones for CB, including NLS; manage several team members across all people related subjects including hiring, identifying, and developing talent across fungible team, staff retention, cross training, cultivating change and risk conscious mindset

  • Willingness and ability to formulate an independent and objective viewpoint to inform the Business on Financial Crime matters; good presentation / communication skills sufficient to convey complex conceptual information / ideas on issues requiring interpretation and opinion and ability to interact effectively with Senior Management

  • Ability to successfully navigate within a complex organization; build strong relationships and work collaboratively with business and management teams and other control functions in a globally diverse environment

Skills You'll Need

  • Experience interfacing with internal and external audit as well as third party monitors, in written responses and through direct interaction

  • Extensive work experience in Financial Crime Risk Management, specifically S&E and/or (NLS)

  • Strong analytical skills to identify patterns / early warning indicators and trends in relation to financial crime risks by using and analyzing data and front-to-back data / process flows

  • Ability to deliver high-quality results among competing priorities with tight deadlines

  • High appreciation of the risks associated with the Corporate Bank products, services, and respective payment flows, including regulatory framework; Ability to identify and assess risks and define self-identified issues with clear action plans for remediation

  • Excellent English language skills

  • Very strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and understanding of relational database and reporting tools

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $170K to $260K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
