Summary/Objective

Under the supervision of the Manager of Continuous Improvement, the incumbent works with teams to prepare and conduct process improvement events. The incumbent will develop and prepare materials for use in the events, coordinate with department management and participants, lead instruction on the use of process improvement tools, facilitate team decisions, manage team work, resolve team conflict, assist in the development of implementation action plans, and conduct follow-up.

  1. Adheres to all company Policies and Procedures and actively promotes Continuous Improvement and its activities and services to others.
  2. Presents, facilitates and leads assigned process improvement events using methods of culture-appropriate team building, team energizing, data gathering and analysis, problem solving, project management and state of the art presentation and platform skills.
  3. Seeks and evaluates process improvement and Lean Enterprise information, materials, and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by management and adapts them to use in the execution of process improvement events.
  4. Participates in and coordinates the development of event Charters and scheduling of the events. Works with departmental management to assure appropriate participation and support. Assists in locating and reserving meeting locations and coordinating the delivery of services and materials necessary for a successful event.
  5. Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits. Uses appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements.
  6. Develops reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs.
  7. Coordinates with related departments and functions to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction.
  8. Prepares purchase information for departmental management review to identify materials, software and other resources required for effective implementation of Continuous Improvement.
  9. Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salaried position. Taylor Made Products, a Lippert company, at Plant 115 is a two shift operation with hours of operation between 6am and 2am. Lean is responsible for continuous improvements and projects in all departments and shifts. Ability to meet the needs of both shifts and flex schedule are required. Salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000

Travel

Travel would be minimal and primarily local during the business day to Plant 115 Facilities in Gloversville and Johnstown. Occasional travel out of state to Indiana for training, events, recognition required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience.
  2. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Navision.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Manufacturing/industry experience.
  2. Bachelor Degree in engineering field.
  3. Quality experience.
  4. Management/Leadership experience.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
