The Assistant Catering Operations Manager will provide the primary support to ensure ideal work flow under the guidance of the Catering Director and Operations Manager. Supports directly the Operations manager in leading all aspects of event set-ups and directing any temporary personnel.
You will ensure proper service during events including proper set-up, cleaning and breakdown procedures. Work schedule is flexible based upon the event schedule and needs of the business, but primary schedule is for managing the afternoon & evening events, and closing the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises assigned catering events under direction of Operations Manager and Catering Director
Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, sanitation and facility-related activities
Tracks and monitors labor for each event
Helps staff set up rooms to desire specifications
Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to event locations
Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils, ensures work areas meet standards
Returns unused food and beverage to catering facility
Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of food service experience, including 1 year at the management level
Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/ or food related service operations
Catering experience is required
Computer skills, knowledge of MS Office product
