The FI Credit Union Regulatory Strategist provides regulatory consulting services to the firm's credit union clients, including capital markets Policy reviews, quarterly Policy compliance reporting, and pre and post examination consultation and support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong comprehension of the credit union industry's regulatory framework (laws, forms, standards, regulations, etc.) and understanding of risk management methodologies used.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret, and communicate state and federal regulations related to principals, procedures, and policies with senior management.
  • Experience addressing NCUA and/or state examiner's comments and findings and the ability to interpret and analyze NCUA 5300 Call Report and Financial Performance Report.
  • Develop and understand credit union industry standards, best practices, and processes.
  • Assess the credit union's financial condition and regulatory compliance by reviewing its financial and operational practices. Continuously work with the credit union to develop and enhance its policies and procedures.
  • Develop and review the quarterly ALM ALCO Dashboard with clients.
  • Participate in Stifel-led quarterly webinars and attend industry conferences focused on credit unions.

$100,000 - $150,000 base salary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum required: Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a business-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum required: 4+ years of related experience.
  • Progress towards professional designations is preferred.
  • Experience as an NCUA examiner is preferred.

LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS

  • Minimum required: FINRA SIE, Series 7 and 63.

SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
