Job/Internship Description
RESPONSIBILITIES

Students will be involved with projects being performed by the NYSDOH AIDS Institute Office of Program Evaluation and Research. The work includes several AIDS Institute areas from HIV, viral hepatitis, drug user health and health equity. Under the supervision of a professional staff the students will assist with all aspects of evaluation and research projects, including but not limited to project development, data collection, data analysis, literature reviews, summarization of results, and/or presentation of results.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified candidates must be either an MPH or an MS Epidemiology student at SUNY Albany’s School of Public Health; AND must have completed at least 24 credits of coursework toward their degree including at least four of the core courses; AND must have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better AND are unable to participate in an internship if on academic probation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Experience with statistical packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS) and survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey, SurveyGizmo/Alchemer).
  • Experience with program evaluation, program development, or data analysis.
 
DETAILS OF EMPLOYMENT

Willing to commit to a minimum of a 1-year position with a variable schedule for up to 20 hours per week. A full time schedule of 37.5 hours per week will be available during breaks(not to exceed 12 weeks).  Expected start dates for immediate hire and/or Fall Semester.

Hourly intern, grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.
