We have an opening for a Manager, Practice Solutions.

The Practice Solutions Manager oversees a portfolio of practice solutions, including off-the-shelf as well as custom solutions. The Practice Solutions Manager is responsible for evaluating existing technology for effectiveness, identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, and implementing new technology and other solutions to enhance efficiency in legal service delivery, establishing and driving plans for change management and user adoption through convincing use cases and marketing strategies. This position collaborates heavily with Practice Innovation and Knowledge Attorneys (PIKAs), practice groups, IT, Information Security, Data Privacy as well as other colleagues across the Practice Innovation (PI) Department and the firm. This role includes a client-facing component to determine practice-specific challenges and pain points and implement process improvement and technology solutions to enhance legal service delivery and overall client experience. This position reports to the Director, Innovation and Technology Solutions.

In this capacity, the Manager, Practice Solutions will:

  • Stay abreast and keep the firm apprised of new developments, trends, tools, technology solutions and best practices in the legal industry, including rapidly developing applications of generative AI in legal technology solutions;
  • Research, evaluate and recommend practice innovation tools and solutions focused on enhancing efficiency, speed, accuracy and collaboration in legal service delivery;
  • Partner with colleagues in PI as well as IT, Office of General Counsel and Information Security to evaluate emerging legal technologies for use at the firm, including:
    • Working with PIKAs as well as practicing attorneys to identify opportunities across PGs to utilize new technologies, including developing needs and business cases, evaluating market tools and/or custom solutions and surfacing recommendations to PI leadership;
    • Work with PI leadership to help shape prioritization of new technology requests and PI technology projects;
    • Drive new technology projects through the technology intake and onboarding process, including communicating with stakeholders, managing pilots, managing vendors, setting targets for deployment and developing plans for training, messaging and rollout to stakeholders;
  • Continuously drive evaluation and adoption of a portfolio of practice solutions, including:
    • Collaborating with colleagues, including PIKAs, change management, IT and others, to develop and drive awareness and adoption campaigns with the relevant practices;
    • Project manage plans for driving awareness and adoption, including measuring results and providing updates to stakeholders and PI leadership;
    • Developing standard methods for evaluating adoption, including usage reports, user surveys and other techniques;
  • Project Manage the design, build and delivery of custom technology solutions (when appropriate), in collaboration with the Practice Solutions development team;
  • Serve as primary point of contact for a portfolio of assigned practice solutions;
  • Establish credibility with attorneys and leaders as a valuable resource and consultant in legal technology;
  • Facilitate the flow of information and communication to ensure all stakeholders are fully informed at all times;
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers as needed;
  • Collaborate with other Practice Solutions Managers to develop best practices and methodologies; and
  • Handle additional related projects as requested.

Proficiencies:

  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and departments;
  • Demonstrated experience managing and resolving issues with project timelines, scope and budget;
  • Demonstrated experiencing actively driving projects to timelines and completion;
  • Demonstrated experience developing project proposals, plans, progress reports and presentations;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to drive results, including firm leadership and firm clients;
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices;
  • Advanced knowledge of the legal processes, informational and organizational needs of practicing attorneys;
  • Advanced knowledge of web, intranet and extranet technologies;
  • Superior written and oral communication skills and ability to effectively present to small and large groups; and
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (required); JD a plus;
  • Project management professional certification (PMP) or equivalent a plus;
  • At least 5 years of project management or business analyst experience;
  • At least 5 years of knowledge management or information technology experience;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a professional services or legal environment; and
  • Experience with legal uses of generative AI a plus.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $150,700 and a maximum of $219,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
