Position Summary

The Senior Digital Fundraising Campaign Manager will work closely with others on NRDC's Digital Advocacy and Fundraising team (DAF), the Communications and Membership Departments, issue experts and program staff, and our outside direct marketing agency to execute digital fundraising and engagement campaigns and projects for NRDC and the NRDC Action Fund. The Senior Digital Fundraising Campaign Manager will help drive big picture digital fundraising strategy, oversee online fundraising campaigns and projects, conduct online testing, analyze data and apply learnings, and more.

Responsibilities

    Develop, manage, and launch multi-channel digital fundraising campaigns and projects for NRDC and the NRDC Action Fund.
  • Draft and edit detailed fundraising campaign plans in collaboration with the Director of Digital Fundraising, other staff, and outside consultants.
  • Draft and edit compelling copy for fundraising deliverables such as emails, donation forms, SMS, P2P, digital ads, web copy, video scripts, and more.
  • Coordinate planning and development of fundraising campaigns with a wide range of key teams and departments at NRDC.
  • Develop and execute testing strategies and analyze and apply results to future efforts.
  • Develop and produce campaign reports and leverage analyses to make data driven decisions moving forward.
  • Ensure campaigns and other fundraising and advocacy efforts are helping the organization achieve fundraising, engagement, DEI, and audience acquisition goals.
  • Partner in management of paid and earned acquisition strategies that grow our donor support base, including online advertising (search, display, social, etc.), chaperoned emails, list appends, and more.
  • Run campaigns and develop tactics to acquire, retain, and upgrade monthly sustaining donors.
  • Collaborate in the development of creative and impactful fundraising efforts on social media.
  • Stay abreast of digital fundraising best practices, trends, and tools that will help drive more revenue, convert new donors, and better engage our audience.
  • Develop occasional advocacy and engagement content.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
  • 4-7 years of professional experience in a digital fundraising campaign manager or higher role, ideally in the environmental, social justice, science, and/or health and wellness space.
  • And/or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.

Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • Experience managing large multi-channel digital fundraising campaigns and projects in coordination with many stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of digital advocacy and fundraising best practices.
  • Strong digital copy writing skills. Must be able to draft punchy, motivating copy with clear cases for giving and calls-to-action, and must be able to translate complicated public policy and legal issues into effective direct response copy.
  • Proven project management expertise and experience using work management tools like Asana and Basecamp.
  • Experience working on tight deadlines to produce time sensitive campaign deliverables like breaking news email and SMS appeals.
  • Strong oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to talk to different NRDC teams, participate actively in group meetings, lead brainstorms, etc.
  • Experience pulling and analyzing data and producing in-depth campaign reports.
  • Working knowledge of CRMs and their technical capabilities as they relate to digital strategy and campaign planning. Experience working with Springboard, Marketing Cloud, and Salesforce a plus.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with a team of many diverse stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Ability to travel to NRDC U.S. based offices, approximately 10-15% annually

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $104,000 to $115,000.

Our offices are open and we are operating in a hybrid model. We offer NRDCers flexibility, and we ask them to come into the office and spend meaningful time there in collaboration with their colleagues. We call this purposeful presence.
