is hiring aClient Relations Manager to join our team inBerkeley, CA. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between Publishers Group West (PGW) and assigned client publishers. You'll lead the ongoing business relationship, instruct clients on policies/procedures, and utilize book industry experience in consultation with clients to maximize their success. This includes but is not limited to consultation in the production, cycle timelines, relevant aspects of marketing, and sales, supplying physical sales materials where needed, implementing an e-content strategy, and use of print on demand. Additionally, you'll take ownership of meetings with client publishers and provide constructive feedback. Further, you will maintain client satisfaction exemplified by being client-focused and responding with a sense of urgency. Finally, the Client Relations Manager keeps clients informed of and trained in the use of beneficial tools and services offered by Ingram.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or year-for-year directly related experience in account management/success or support management.
  • 4 years of book industry (distribution, buying, selling) or client management experience.
  • 1 year of experience with MS Excel and Word.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains profitable and successful relationships with PGW client publishers, using tools and efficiencies provided by Ingram.
  • Operates as the main point of contact for all things pertaining to assigned clients.
  • Oversees publishers' new title projections, backlist sales, inventory analysis and promotional recommendations.
  • Prepares and leads client pre-sales meetings.
  • Meets individually with clients on a regular or as-needed basis to continually review their business and address issues as they arise.
  • Serves as liaison between clients and Sales.
  • Liaises Business Operations, Warehouse Operations and Finance on behalf of the client.
  • Communicates publisher deadlines; coordinates and assists clients in meeting deadlines.
  • Advocates for clients at sales conferences, coordinating all aspects of client presentation including introductions, coaching, and facilitation of sales dialogue and interaction, on occasion presenting titles on a client's behalf.
  • Consults on publicity and marketing plans, including cover design, pricing, and packaging as necessary.
  • Works with the Sales department to facilitate sales opportunities across all market channels.
  • Informs and educates clients on industry trends, including Ingram programs to further publishers' sales opportunities.
  • Presents reports during client review meetings with PGW leadership and Sales (Monthly Business Development).
  • Develops excellence in the use of Ingram internal systems.

Hiring Salary Range: $66,940 - $93,960. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the hourly rate for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
