VETERINARY PRACTICE SALES CONSULTANT

Candidates must live within the assigned territory of Albany/Syracuse, NY and willing to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight as needed to manage the assigned territory.

PSIvet is a group member organization serving over 5,500 independent veterinary practices across the United States. We are dedicated to supporting our membership by providing products, programs, and services designed to drive better financial and clinical outcomes. We provide comprehensive, proprietary solutions, allowing our members to save on pharmaceuticals, animal health supplies and support services. We also offer staff education, professional development courses, and other business services.

As a Veterinary Practice Sales Consultant, you will be on the front lines working to build strong relationships with our veterinary practice membership and sell over 75 vendor solutions of products and services. In this sales role, you will engage customers through knowledgeable interactions, business discussions and educational opportunities about what PSIvet has to offer. You will leverage your consultative selling techniques to translate customer needs into solutions that leverage our offerings of products and services. In helping veterinary practices grow their revenue and manage their practice, you will establish yourself as a valued partner.

The ideal candidate should possess a high level of professionalism, entrepreneurial spirit, advocacy and business acumen. Understanding how to nurture relationships by building business plans with current clients and prospecting for new clients are cornerstones of the role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Achieve annual revenue and growth goals as assigned.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert to customers and a single point of conflict resolution.
  • Develop and execute an annual Territory Business Plan per our expectations - by maintaining and growing membership, increasing vendor partner revenue year over year and achievement of assigned goals.
  • Develop and execute a call-cycle at the membership/prospective member level to achieve reach & frequency expectations.
  • Create, manage and execute annual business plans with current customers including marketing, staff training and revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with other partner sales professionals in your territory to leverage the sales of products and services.
  • Educate and train veterinary clinic staff about products and services.
  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of vendor partner products and services.
  • Communicate customer needs as well as competitive issues to your region manager.
  • Present PSIvet's values to our customers in a professional manner, including an understanding of our industry, veterinary practice, customers, technology, operations and processes.
  • Attend trade shows and other educational events as assigned.
  • Manage expenses and resources in line with company guidelines and directives.
  • Develop a collaborative partnership with your region sales team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline; CVPM, Certified Veterinary Technician with at least 5 years practice experience or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • 5+ years direct sales experience with demonstrated success in the veterinary/animal health industry, Human Healthcare medical device sales, dental device sales, and/or prior capital equipment sales.
  • Experience successfully managing your own sales territory, in an outside capacity preferred.
  • Able to work well with others in a highly team oriented, collaborative, sales environment.
  • This is veterinary sales; you should be comfortable with going into veterinary clinic and hospital environments.
  • Self-starter with the ability to go above and beyond the task at hand.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of professional and personal integrity, attention to details, exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills; clear, concise, unambiguous and structured.
  • Attend industry events and tradeshows to promote PSIvet membership.
  • Insatiable drive to delight customers.

  • You are required to have a valid state driver's license and an exemplary driving record.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight as needed to manage the assigned territory.
  • You must reside in the assigned territory.
  • Extensive computer use.

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.

However, the pay range for this position is as follows.

$65,100.00 - $120,900.00
