New York, NYResponsibilities include:
Direct management responsibility and decision-making for WIRED commerce writers, editors, and producers including, but not limited to: Hiring, performance management and employee evaluation.
Managing an editorial calendar with specific revenue and production goals.
Evaluating pitches and assigning commerce stories to writers, editors, producers, and freelancers to achieve WIRED's revenue and content production goals.
Editing copy for clarity, accuracy, and helpfulness.
Applying SEO best practices to commerce posts.
Identify editorial categories that present commerce opportunities by studying purchasing data, tracking site analytics, performing a competitive analysis of comparable sites, and researching trends relevant to WIRED readers.
Lead editorial coverage during tentpole shopping holidays, including Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.
Regularly analyze affiliate data and share best practices with WIRED editors, including senior editorial leadership, to inform decision-making.
Coordinate social teams on distribution strategy on relevant social media platforms
Ownership of revenue and content production goals.
Qualifications:
5-6 years experience as a digital editor, including experience creating shopping content and managing an editorial team
A clear understanding of the affiliate industry and business model
Experience managing a team of writers
Demonstrated mastery of purchasing data and site analytics
Experience and familiarity with implementing SEO best practices
Exceptional project management skills and organizational skills
A self-directed work style
Polished communication skills
Familiarity with UX best practices, user testing, and reader surveys
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Base Salary: $85k-$103k
