Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Director of Content Strategy.

NYU Langone Health (NYULH) is seeking an innovative and creative Associate Director of Content Strategy to oversee editorial planning, publishing, and platform management for our public-facing websites. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of content planning, development and publication for multiple enterprise websites including NYULangone.org, Med.NYU.edu, and the Perlmutter Cancer Center and Hassenfeld Childrens Hospital. The ideal candidate will be an expert in digital content creation and publishing who can establish a strategic vision that leverages data, audience insights, and emerging technologies and best practices to support key business priorities and drive the future competitiveness of these critical marketing and communications channels.
Reporting directly to the Director, Cross-Channel Content Strategy, this role will collaborate with cross-functional leaders over other marketing, communications and advertising areas to craft integrated campaigns that promote NYULHs brand and storytelling both consistently and effectively.

Job Responsibilities:

Content Strategy:

    • Own and develop content strategy for assigned platforms to enhance content creation, distribution, and optimization in a way that amplifies reach and impact; work closely with the Director of Cross-Channel Content Strategy to strategize and expand presence
    • Contribute to content campaign planning and support development of the institution's content strategy agenda, identifying and embedding emerging trends to establish NYULH as a content leader for assigned platforms
    • Define and incorporate audience insights and analytics to inform content strategy, better meet user needs and improve the user experience
    • Conduct qualitative audits to drive consistency across all initiatives and campaigns to deliver the highest quality user experience
    • Drive brand awareness, engagement, and business growth through compelling storytelling across online & digital signage platforms
    • Develop & manage SEO strategy to optimize content for web platforms, improving organic visibility and driving traffic growth
    • Ensure a consistent and impactful content experience across all assigned platforms and tools

Content Development and Execution:

    • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for assigned platforms, ensuring timely and relevant content updates
    • Manage internal and external agency partners for content development
    • Ensure consistent editorial use of NYU Langone brand voice across web properties and digital signage. Establish content governance processes, guidelines, and standards; develop and communicate content standards and nuances for assigned platforms as needed
    • Develop and maintain taxonomies for key clinical areas based on SEO research.
    • Evaluate key metrics against key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-driven enhancements to content strategies
    • Monitor and improve audience engagement

Collaboration and Leadership:

    • Partner with Content Strategy Lead peers to ensure content release schedules are aligned (when required) across all channels to reinforce consistent messaging and user experience
    • Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including world-renowned physicians, researchers, and subject matter experts to identify opportunities for new and curated content that meets the needs of various target audiences
    • Collaborate with the Media Relations team to effectively spotlight and optimize communications opportunities for media stories across assigned platforms
    • Partner with Brand Standards and Governance Lead to ensure all content aligns with NYULH brand guidelines

Operational Excellence:

    • Efficiently and effectively execute goals and priorities while adhering to organizational standards for delivering excellent work
    • Leverage tracking tools to measure and define success compared to other institutions in specialty areas

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 10+ years of experience in content strategy, storytelling, and communications for large organizations
2+ years of editorial management experience leading effective content teams
Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies across platforms
Strong understanding of website and digital signage content management systems, digital experience platforms and other platform technologies
Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles, digital design, and information architecture
Strong understanding of SEO best practices and tools
Passion for storytelling, content creation, and audience engagements
Excellent verbal and written communications and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated track record of effective stakeholder management
Ability to understand and learn from data-driven insights
Proficiency in leveraging tools and platforms to improve content creation, distribution, and performance tracking
Continuous learner with a passion for understanding new technologies (e.g., AI)
Analytical mindset guiding decision-making
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:
Marketing experience in healthcare industry

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $165,383.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
