Job Description

Bon Appetit and Epicurious are looking for a Newsletter Editor with a deep and demonstrable interest in current trends in the world of food, cooking, and kitchen gear to join our team of dedicated, hard-working, food-obsessed writers, editors, and recipe developers.

This role plays a key role in how the Food Brands deepen the direct connection with our audiences each and every day to drive them to places where they can have meaningful interactions with our brand. The person in this role will have a clear voice as a writer, collaborate closely with writers, editors, and audience strategists to curate relevant content for our different audiences each day, and be excited about the possibilities that newsletters have to offer a loyal and retained audience.

Primary Responsibilities:

Production and Curation

  • Curate content for the BA and Epi daily emails in collaboration with audience strategists, editors, writers, and other team members

  • Build and send newsletters using our email service provider

  • Work closely with Audience and Commerce teams to identify key offerings across the brands to promote in order to drive revenue from current and prospective subscribers

  • Review data associated with daily newsletters to identify areas for improvement in terms of engagement and key revenue conversion metrics - use data and insights to inform curation of relevant content

Writing and Other

  • Write newsletter copy for daily emails

  • Write copy for additional materials (social, video, events, marketing, etc.) that helps promote and market our newsletter products as a key service for our audience

  • Pitch and write articles across BA and Epi as needed

  • Attend and participate in editorial meetings and audience strategy meetings

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant food media experience

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and incorporate data into decision making

  • Passion for BA/Epi's rich library of recipe and non-recipe content and a desire to own and develop new ways of making the best use of that library to serve our consumers

  • Sound editorial judgment and a strong, confident, clear voice as a writer

  • A systems oriented work style - proven ability to multitask across multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Experience proactively and effectively communicating and collaborating across departments and levels within a team - ability to manage up

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

The expected base salary range for this position is from $72,000-$85,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
