Ink Planners are responsible for creating ink job tickets. They are also responsible for ordering and staging ink and coating for jobs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing or printing experience
  • Proficiency with Basic Math
  • Microsoft Office
  • The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
  • This position requires frequent walking.
  • Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Responsibilities:

    Knowledge of, understanding of and compliance to all Quality System Documents that are associated with this job description.

    • Estimate ink and coating requirements for production.
    • Complete Ink Tickets for production.
    • Ordering of ink, coating and varnish.
    • Looking at ink requirements to determine rework potential.
    • Participate in Testing Lab weekend on-call rotation.
    • Verify ink and coating COA's and wet samples are in plan and evaluated prior to being used in production.
    • Daily checks for coating requirements on upcoming jobs .
    • Tracking of ink and coating inventory, including inventory minimization and reduction methods.
    • Participate in the job planning process to help ensure material planning.
    • Assist the Testing Lab with material testing when needed.
    • Daily checks for changes made by pressroom personnel on ink tickets.
    • Assist with trouble shooting and solving press problems related to ink and coating.
    • Mixing ink when required.
    • Assist with ink data entry in vision
