Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern to join our team.

Responsibilities

    Assist with activities in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance projects and similar environmental review processes or planning projects.
  • Work may include, but is not limited to:
    • Research and data collection and analysis on a range of topics pertaining to the natural and human environment.
    • Drafting or editing of environmental assessment or environmental impact statement sections.
    • Drafting of project correspondence.
    • Development of public engagement materials.
    • Planning of public meetings and other public engagement activities.

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fast learner, self-motivated
  • Highly organized
  • Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GIS, desired
  • Experience with Adobe Suite a plus

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in an environmental discipline, public policy, technical writing, or a related field.
