Job Description

This position will supervise all daily operational processes and resources (employee and supply) using a lean philosophy to ensure efficiency, consistent improvement and lean financial operation. Responsible for the supervision and direction of registration, insurance verification, data collection and front-end processing of cash collection. Acts as a patient advocate for patient concerns. Monitors waiting times for patients, communicating consistently to them. Supports and resolves physicians' operational needs while in session.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the administration in the provision of the Operations Manager and support to the department in alignment with the mission of the department and that of medical center.
  • Monitor the registration process of clerical associates.
  • Ensure that staff is collecting all necessary authorizations and referrals. Administer departmental deferral policy.
  • Responsible for daily cash collections and ensuring that payments are collected at point of service, secured, reconciled, posted and deposited in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department to resolve employee conflict and ensure that customer satisfaction is kept.
  • Attend meetings and join teams, which will benefit the staff, department and customers.
  • Identify systemic and/or recurrent problems and make recommendations on proposed resolution to Operations Manager.
  • Staffing Schedule Coordination
  • Monitor and supervise staff. Enhance staff development, productivity and training.
  • Responsible for recruiting, terminating, performance evaluations and issuing disciplinary notice to associates when appropriate.
  • Maintain proper inventory of medical and office supplies.
  • Work closely with support staff to expedite and improve patient flow.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically EPIC or related EHR.
  • Ability to address physical and emotional needs of adult, geriatric, and pediatric patient populations; ability to meetpatients' needs and ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of insurance company interactions, referrals and authorizations.
