Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced Radiological Controls Trainer to join our Radiological Training Unit at the Kesselring Site in West Milton, NY! This team is responsible for oversight of radiological training at the Site, including the conduct of practicals, examinations and drills. This team provides training to different Site populations, including Engineering Laboratory Technicians, in both the classroom and in practical training areas. This team also ensures that the training programs follow applicable regulations and that both the training organizations and students' performance is being assessed. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 19 years of relevant experience; or High school diploma or equivalent and qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and a minimum of 17 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or Journeyman's papers or vocational certificate in a related field or successful completion of RCTQS and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Comfort with public speaking and knowledge of adult learning techniques
  • Proficiency with technical writing
  • Experience in NNPP radiological controls or the ability to qualify Supervisory Radiological Controls Technician (SRCT) and Radiological Controls Training Instructor (RCTI)
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team environment, including comfort with providing feedback to others

Pay Range
$103,100.00 - $161,100.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations
