Position Title: Math Professor to the HEOP Program

Office: Canisius Opportunity Programs for Education (COPE)

Reports To: Academic Support Services Coordinator and HEOP Program

Date: 2024 Summer Semester

Primary Purpose: This position is responsible for providing engaging, creative, and interactive instruction and coursework to HEOP pre-freshman students, during a 4-week summer program, who received a New York state high school diploma. The instruction provides developmental and remedial support designed to prepare students for college-level course work.

Job Duties:

• Being available to teach a math course 5 days a week, Monday - Friday.
• Providing a syllabus that includes topics being taught during the summer program.
• Attending weekly staff meetings with the HEOP team and other professors from the program.
• Providing weekly grades and behavioral reports during the staff meetings.
• Providing a final exam and a final grade for the students at the end of the summer program.
• Attending faculty orientation.

Start Date: July 10, 2024

End Date: August 2, 2024

Pay: $3000 stipend for the summer.

Hours: 10 hours per week.
