Position Title: Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis

Position Summary

The Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis owns the Plan for the division they support and partners in long-term and short-term forecasting, strategic initiatives, and business case development, and is a key supporter of divisional Officers & Directors. The Senior Manager is also responsible for reporting and modeling of various initiatives for divisional work groups. The Senior Manager directly oversees staff that own financial modeling and budgeting, including developing relevant presentations for Crewmembers, Senior Leaders, and the Executive Leadership Team. This position reports directly to the Director Divisional Controller Financial Planning and Analysis.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain both short-term and long-term (18-month rolling, 5-Year) departmental forecasts, and ensure accurate representation of department forecasts within the broader enterprise forecast
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and decision support to leadership including supporting business case development for divisional work groups with a focus on Return on Investment (ROI) to the broader business and taking into account strategic initiatives such as operational reliability
  • Act as key point of contact for Managing Director or Vice President in the supported business division
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures or revenue-generating initiatives in order to improve pre-tax income and operating margin
  • Conduct productivity analysis and collaborate on staffing levels to support operational needs
  • Own cadenced reporting for ongoing cost reduction initiatives and current month, quarter, and year financial performance
  • Promote interdepartmental communication and collaboration to foster a cohesive work environment
  • Partner with the business to instill ownership and accountability in financial outcomes
  • Facilitate adherence to corporate policies and procedures, and perform ad hoc analysis as requested by senior leaders
  • Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, a quantitative field, or related area; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least six (6) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Six (6) years of budgeting and/or analytical experience
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Financial analysis skills, including ability to conduct Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), Net Present Value (NPV) and Return on Equity (ROE) analyses
  • Ability to interact daily with people at different levels within the organization, including developing and maintaining relationships
  • Comfortable delivering presentations to senior leadership
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (15%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or appropriate post-graduate degree or licensing
  • Prior experience as a leader in a financial planning & analysis team
  • Experience providing high-quality customer service in a matrix structure with a commitment to meeting or exceeding expectations

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue's Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $111,400.00 and $156,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
