Sr. Principal Systems Engineer

Position Overview: As a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and deployment of state-of-the-art ground operational systems for the SDA O&I/GMI program. Working as a member of a cross-functional team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of ground operational systems essential for satellite communication and defense operations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy ground operational systems.
- Utilize your expertise in satellite communications and ground-to-satellite communication to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Apply ground operations experience to optimize system functionalities and ensure seamless operations.
- Implement DevSecOps practices using platforms/tools such as AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Lead CI/CD pipeline development to streamline software delivery and deployment processes.
- Develop and execute test automation strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of system components.
- Leverage your experience in missile warning/missile tracking system integration, test, and operations to enhance system capabilities.
- Embrace Agile philosophies and processes to drive continuous improvement and adaptation.
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
- Satellite communications knowledge
- Ground to satellite communication knowledge
- Ground operations experience
- Experience in missile warning/missile tracking system integration, test, and operations
- Familiarity with Agile philosophies and processes
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of DevSecOps experience with some of the specified platforms/tools
- Minimum of 10 years of CI/CD pipeline development experience
- Minimum of 10 years of test automation experience
- Minimum of 10 years of missile warning/missile tracking system integration, test, and operations experience
Compensation:
- $116.00-$125.00 per hour, depending on experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of DevSecOps experience with some of the following platforms/tools
- AWS
- GitLab
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- Jenkins
- Ansible
- Terraform
- Master's Degree
- Agile experience
- Substantial use, understanding, and tailoring of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
- Substantial proficiency with requirements management & system modeling tools
- Ability to recognize various architectural patterns, apply them appropriately, understand strengths/weaknesses within those architectures, and develop architectural variations as needed
- Familiar with Agile philosophies and processes
- Active contributor to the achievement of business objectives
- Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task
- Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas
- Effectively leads complex assignments; interacts with both customers and end-user
