Paid CNA Training

St. Ann's Community is currently offering 6 weeks of CNA training. We will provide a paid training to become a Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA). Training will be held on our Irondequoit campus.

Candidates will be hired to work at St. Ann's Community as a Resident Service Technician. After a brief assessment period, your manager may recommend you for our paid CNA training program.

St. Ann's Community Offers:

  • Paid training (37.5 hours/week)
  • Starting at $15.50 increase to $16 upon certification
  • CNA certification after 6 weeks

Job requirements:

  • Provide 1:1 companionship to residents

  • Makes unoccupied beds

  • Passes fresh water & nourishments

  • Passes and picks up trays at meal times

  • Answers residents' lights and provides accurate reporting of any problematic issues to the appropriate staff

  • Re-stocks personal care items

  • Performs appropriate hand hygiene

  • Demonstrates upholding resident rights (addressing the resident appropriately, giving explanations, asking about preferences and needs, utilizing standard precautions, following safety guidelines)

  • Implements skills taught in the classroom:

    • Ambulating with a gait belt
    • Assisting with a bedpan
    • Changing an occupied bed
    • Changing a resident's position
    • Dressing a resident with a weak arm
    • Emptying a foley bag and measuring output
    • Feeding a resident
    • Measuring and recording a radial pulse and respirations
    • Catheter care
    • Providing foot care
    • Providing denture care
    • Providing mouth care for someone with teeth
    • Providing perineal care
    • Providing hand and nail care
    • Providing a partial bath and back rub
    • Providing passive ROM to several joints
    • Transferring from bed to wheelchair with a gait belt

  • Participates in resident activities

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner in accordance with our established procedures

Candidate Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 20LBS.
  • Customer Service experience preferred
