Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Health Program Coordinator will be located in the AIDS Institute's Office of Drug User Health (ODUH) and will assist in the coordination of a variety of projects related to grant deliverables for the Overdose Data to Action in States (OD2A-S), CDC cooperative agreement for the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The incumbent will be part of a team working to prevent and respond to drug overdose in NYS and will support and contribute to program operations such as meeting/event logistics, and contract management activities. Other related programmatic planning and support as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience contributing to the coordination of program activities in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in one or more of the following: drug user health, substance use disorders, opioid use disorders, harm reduction, medication for opioid use disorder, public health program management, evaluation of policies and interventions relating to drug user health. Experience working with health care providers, government agencies, community groups and other organizations as necessary. Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, procedures, and policies. Experience/interest in writing and making presentations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.).

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
