Job Summary:

The Senior Account Director (known at Ad Council as Senior Campaign Director) is the strategic campaign lead and an integral part of the Ad Council's Campaign Development team responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of fully integrated public service communications programs that drive sustainable and measurable social change. On a day-to-day basis, you are the trusted partner and adviser to our clients and funders, as well as pro-bono advertising agencies. You also help build coalitions and engage a broad network of stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Whether it's reviewing research, working collaboratively on a strategy and evaluating creative, developing a digital product, activating creator and press/social programs, partnering with media companies, or engaging brands on their CSR initiative, your job will be to oversee and coordinate the various processes and teams that go into developing integrated communications programs that truly surround an issue, reach an audience and make a difference in our world.

This role is perfect for a seasoned marketer who is a stellar project and people leader who builds relationships easily, thrives and adapts well to change, can both think strategically and roll up their sleeves, has excellent communications skills and presence, and is passionate about social change. This position requires travel to Ad Council's NYC and DC offices for all-staff and team meetings at least four times a year, and campaign-related travel as required.

The compensation package for this position includes an annual base salary of $110,000-$125,000. This position is eligible to receive an annual incentive, generous benefits, and paid time off.

What you'll do:

  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of all communications strategy and marketing plans for 1-3 fully integrated multimedia campaigns, including our new effort on Gun Violence Prevention
  • Manage internal and external resources to develop target-audience driven, multimedia communications strategy and implement integrated marketing programs with go-to market plans to deliver on campaign objectives
    • Integrated campaign programs consist of multifaceted approaches and include: content and digital products development, public relations, trusted messenger and creator programs, health care and educational marketing, employee, community and faith-based outreach, media/corporate partnerships, etc.
  • Build and foster relationships with senior-level funders, clients, agency partners, and other external stakeholders
  • Consistently manage partner expectations, ensuring delivery of the highest quality client service while never losing sight of campaign goals and objectives
  • Oversee budget management, reporting and fiscal projections for campaigns and be responsible for campaign P&L including identifying growth opportunities for revenue
  • Collaborate with in-house counsel to execute SOWs and contracts large and small, ensuring compliance with contract/grant reporting requirements
  • Strategic leadership in setting and meeting campaign KPIs; leverage data and insights to optimize and course correct throughout the campaign development process to maximize impact
  • Represent the Ad Council and speak at industry events, thought leadership panels, and other external engagements
  • Supervise, develop and mentor a team of Campaign Directors, Campaign Managers and Assistant Campaign Managers

What you bring:

  • 8+ years of advertising account management or in-house advertising/marketing experience (with a minimum of 2 years being an account lead)
  • Proven track record of leading fully integrated, multimedia communications campaigns
  • Experience in leading a team of remote direct reports, and collaborating with a larger cross-functional team within the organization
  • Experience managing through change, and building/experimenting with new processes and models
  • Experience with financial forecasting and resource allocation
  • Experience developing, negotiating and executing SOWs, and comfortability with contracting
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience with public speaking
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
