Accountabilities
The director of operations/assistant coach is responsible for the execution of specific strategic activities and outcomes within women's basketball. These will include sustained performance and execution in the following areas:
  • Adhering to Head Coach's philosophy
  • Athletic instruction/coaching
  • Program operations and administration as designated by head coach

This position will manage all non-coaching aspects of the sport program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage all aspects of team and staff recruiting travel including arranging flights, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, team per diem and trip itineraries.
  • Reconciliation of team and staff travel expenses following University and Athletics Business Office policies and procedures.
  • Manage procurement and purchasing for the program including negotiation with vendors (hotel, caters, transportation, etc.) for all program functions
  • Manage elements of budget for which they have oversight (e.g., travel, equipment, casual wage personnel) and make independent decision within approved fiscal year budget
  • Manage all aspects of official and unofficial campus visits of prospect student-athletes; booking travel and hotel accommodations when applicable and submitting required compliance documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with executive team members on the execution of game competition contracts, both home and away games.
  • Serve as sport liaison with the Athletics Administration for personnel and payroll issues.
  • Develop and coordinate program correspondence to key constituents including donors, alumni, parents, and prospective student-athletes.
  • Work collaboratively with the communications and creative services unit on social media strategy and presence for the program.
  • Maintain confidential and routine records, such as financial aid records, NLI forms, budget reports, compliance forms, procurement documents, competition forms and student-athlete class schedules.

This position will also serve as the women's basketball program's fourth assistant coach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Game tape exchange (Synergy);
  • Assist in oversight of student-athlete development, such as monitoring academic progress, participation in community service, and support of overall well-being;
  • Execute scouting, film preparation, and competition preparation (e.g. film breakdown, use of appropriate video-editing software, etc.);
  • Maintain appropriate NCAA/institutional recruiting certification to support team recruitment strategy;
  • Attendance at all required department and compliance educational meetings; and
  • Other duties as assigned by the coaches and sports administration team.

Accountable for maintaining personal compliance with all relevant governing bodies to include:
  • NCAA
  • Patriot League
  • Athletic Department; and
  • University Policies.

Responsible for role modeling behaviors and leadership for student-athletes.

Requirements

Professional Experience/ Qualifications
  • Previous collegiate playing, coaching and/or director of operations experience in the sport of basketball.
  • Proven competitive success.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of collegiate coaching and/or director of operations experience in the sport of basketball.
  • Previous experience (playing or working) at an NCAA Division I institution.
Education
A Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in sport operations or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.

Bachelor's degree and 2 - 5 years of experience in Division I sport operations is preferred.
