Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Research Project Manager is responsible for the continued coordination, development, and implementation of research grants and operational processes to support research operations across the network. This operations administrator identifies, develops, implements, and manages research operating procedures while fostering an innovative environment to assist in meeting the Research Institutes strategic initiatives. In addition, the Research Project Manager will provide support related to process, expense control, Investigator Initiated trials (IIT), and grants administration. Partners with research program managers and principal investigators (PI) and interfaces with departments, provider practices, and medical staff to support research operations. The incumbent will develop and prepare both grants and operational metrics, outcomes, and reports.
  • Monitors grant operations and procedures related to budget, financials, programs, personnel, information management, investigator initiated trials, and other administrative services. Develop, implement and provide operational analytical support to clinical research programs. Researches and resolves grant expense concerns to ensure accurate reporting and payment. Supports clinical research initiatives to assure adherence to organizational and operational service line goals. Utilizes data related to the delivery and outcomes, department productivity as well as daily operations, attribution and new project management. Tracks, analyzes and reports on operational metrics to assist in the development of strategy, philanthropic support, and marketing for grants.
  • Serve as a key administrator for research operations, oversees analysis, policy and procedure development that supports early phase scientific services. Assists in the development, analysis, and modifications of research operational policies, procedures and practices that affect the immediate operation. Generates reports, analyze grant and IIT budget variances.
  • Oversee and manage all programmatic and budgetary compliance specific to the designated sponsored project(s), monitor policy guidance and participate in funding source and industry technical assistance calls/webinars . Collaborate with the designated PI to lead appropriate and timely accomplishment of assigned funded sponsored project activities. To this end, the research operations administrator will work, on a day-to-day basis, with the PI and project team to:Identify areas of risk and/or concern prior to grant proposal development create or collaborate with faculty, staff, external consultants, and physician scientists in the production, delivery, and assessment of relevant grant-specific materials, develops and maintains grant administrative website content, (coordinate with staff to ensure deadlines for research proposal submissions, new award/contract set-up, financial reporting and award closeouts. Facilitatie grant-funded activities or grant-specific events.
  • Recommends and reviews operational initiatives for resource and financial feasibility. Works with leadership and finance to establish compliance processes and develop budgets. Provides training for faculty and staff in grant processes and procedures. Ensures IIT related financial reimbursement is collected, tracked, and documented through completion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree in life sciences, business or related field. Required
