The Production Manager is responsible to work closely with the project teams to execute a production plan that meets project timelines, budgets and scope of work as stated in the customer agreement. This individual must be a leader capable of managing and motivating the production technicians in the assembly process as well as the logistics team. Cultivating a customer centric approach in our everyday business is essential.

Essential Duties

  • Develop a production schedule based on project build requirements and capacity plan for Integration Techs, Factory Techs and Contractors

  • Results oriented with organizational skills and success managing multiple projects from assembly to buy-off, tear down and pack/ship processes

  • Establish training and assembly practices that support new business growth in automation

  • Coordinate contract employees as needed to support the production plan

  • Actively participate in design reviews, quality reviews and production meetings to ensure customer solutions are understood and built with the highest quality standards

  • Support shipping & receiving activities for the APC, SCA, and CC

  • Collaborate with other departments, i.e. Engineering, Quality and Purchasing, to resolve project build issues

  • Proven track record for excellent project management as well as employee training in productivity and safety

  • Work with the union steward, administer labor contract and ensure employees understand and commit to shop rules

  • Develop strategic plans for the department in line with the organizational vision

  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment

  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing, 5S, work flow improvement etc.

  • Manage the scheduling of routine maintenance to keep the equipment running effectively and maintaining quality standards

  • Establish and maintain hiring and training plans for the department

  • Travel when required to vendor or customer facilities as needed

  • Conduct oneself in a highly professional manner

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 year of operations management

  • 10+ years of production experience

  • Must have knowledge in design and manufacturing of engineered solutions

  • Must possess adequate computer skills with various computer programs and databases such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, AutoCAD and various graphic programs

Experience Preferred

  • Knowledge of General Industry & Motor Vehicle Industry Segments a plus

  • Knowledge of Atlas Copco Products and Programming a plus

Educational Requirements

  • Technical bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED Required
