Description
Our client is looking for a versatile Technical Workday Payroll Analyst to join their team. This role is designed for someone with a solid payroll background who can support payroll configurations and escalations while also contributing to broader HRIS functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, the ability to troubleshoot payroll issues, and experience in various Workday functions beyond payroll.

Location: 100% Remote
Pay Rate: Up to $64 an hour
Duration: 6 months

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Configuration and Support:
    • Assist in configuring and maintaining the Workday Payroll module, including creating and managing earnings and deduction codes.
    • Provide support for payroll escalations, troubleshooting issues related to payroll EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builders) and other payroll-related functions.
    • Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure configurations align with organizational policies and compliance requirements.
  • Reporting and Data Management:
    • Participate in the development and maintenance of payroll reports, providing insights into earnings, deductions, and payroll metrics.
    • Conduct audits and validations of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • HRIS Functions:
    • Support various HRIS initiatives beyond payroll, including reporting requests, security assignments, and user access management.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in HRIS processes and workflows.
  • Testing and Documentation:
    • Assist in testing new Workday features and enhancements, ensuring they align with organizational needs and function correctly.
    • Create and maintain documentation for payroll processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Training:
    • Work closely with HR, IT, and finance teams to troubleshoot system issues and enhance overall system performance.
    • Provide training and support to team members on payroll configurations and general HRIS functions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with Workday updates, payroll regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and system effectiveness.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements within both payroll and HRIS functions, recommending solutions to enhance efficiency.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience working in HR with a broad understanding of the employee life cycle; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with Workday Payroll configuration and management, including troubleshooting payroll-related issues.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, including earnings and deductions.
  • Familiarity with HRIS functions beyond payroll, such as reporting and security management.
  • Workday configuration and reporting experience.
  • Experience creating earnings/deductions and troubleshooting Payroll EIBs.
  • Business Process Administration and Workday Report Writer.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced knowledge of Excel preferred) and Google Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to general employee and manager questions, looping in other team members as necessary.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidate will have completed Workday Training related to HCM Fundamentals, Configurable Security, Business Process Administration and Workday Report Writer. Any additional Workday training modules are a plus!
