Our ENS business unit in Binghamton, NY is actively searching for a Quality Manager. This position will manage, champion and lead the quality processes throughout all ENS facilities.

Key responsibilities of this individual are:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Four Year-Technical) and at least 5 (five) years relevant experience or 10 (ten) years of relative experience. A minimum of 3 years in a management role.
  • Management Experience including Inspectors, Technicians, Engineers, etc. Experience utilizing both direct and indirect resources a huge plus.
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certifications Preferred. Certified Quality Manager-CQM, Engineer-CQE, Auditor-CQA, Six Sigma Black Belt- CSSBB.
  • Must have a high level of knowledge of ISO-9001/ TS-16949, AS 9100, ISO14001 and AIAG Quality system requirements. Ability to drive and improve an existing QMS.
  • A Solid, Functional Quality Toolbox able to apply and train others as well. At a minimum:
    • Corrective/Preventive Action (8D, 5P, etc.), Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis (Pareto, Fishbone-Ishikawa, Force Field, 5-Why, etc.)
    • Statistical Process Controls/Analysis- Capability Studies, Control Charts, Pareto Analysis, Gage R&R, Probability/Reliability, CPK, CP, PPK, DOE (Design of Experiments), Sampling Plans etc.
    • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings including GD&T. Must be able to design inspection processes around key/critical features.
    • Thorough Knowledge of PPAP Functions. Including, FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, MSA, GRR, as well a functional understanding of all the 21 elements of PPAP.
    • APQP- Advanced Production Quality Planning- including experience throughout the entire supply cycle from Supplier to Operations to Customer, providing feedback loop.
  • Quality Auditing- Internal Auditing to a QMS as well as compliance to a Standard (ISO, TS, AS).
    • Lead Auditor Qualified (Certified- Preferred)
    • Must be able to manage an internal audit schedule and reportable to management for corrective actions and needed improvements in the QMS.
    • Must be able to properly train and guide others in the Internal Audit process as Internal Auditors as well as Process owners.
  • Sorting/Rework Direction for Non-Conforming Products both Internally as well as at the customer.
  • Negotiating Charges for Non-Conforming Products and Customer Rejections.
  • MRB-NMR/RMA Lead- Must Lead the company on Scrap Initiatives, NMR/RMA dispositions and resolutions as well as proper handoff to CPAR teams for repeat issues.
  • Complete Responsibility for the CPAR System- Including monitoring of all Open CPARs, providing direction and guidance to CPAR Teams on resolving concerns effectively. Training and developing of Area/Department Leads in all the necessary tools to be effective at Permanently Closing CPARs.
  • TQM, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Lean experienced. Must be an active member of the CI steering committee and driven to CI efforts through the Organization.
  • Management Representative- Must have experience as the MR for a company, with responsibility for Developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, reporting and continuously improve the quality system.
  • Supplier Development experience. This includes Supplier qualification/certification, supplier development, SCAR (Supplier Corrective Actions), Supplier Scorecards to assist Purchasing with Supplier Selection.
  • Previous Metrology Experience with at a minimum: Hand Gages (Calipers, Micrometers, etc.) to other more complex measuring tools with a demonstrated ability to understand and communicate very tight tolerances.
  • Materials Certification Understanding- ROHS, REACH, IMDS, etc.
  • Sound Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Strong Data Analysis and reporting skills including metrics for all functions of the business. Including the ability to implement, maintain, monitor and report metrics for suppliers, customers and internal processes and ensure effectiveness & maintenance thereof.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage several tasks and/ or projects simultaneously.
  • Must have good communication skills, both orally and in writing, to interface with customers, suppliers and all levels of personnel in own organization. Capable of working in an international supply and customer base (China, Mexico, Europe) effectively.
  • Customer Satisfaction Driven- Must be able to effectively communicate with Customer on everything from Customer Complaints/Concerns, Deviation requests, Sorting/Rework Costs, Specification Changes, etc. Must be able to demonstrate ability to resolve customer concerns permanently, effective by gathering the correct resources within the organization.
  • Manufacturing Experience in a fabrication/assembly facility preferred. Metallurgical background dealing with various metals applications very beneficial as well.
  • Available for over 25% travel, including international travel.
