Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Supervisor - Huntington Medical Group.

In this role, the successful candidate Provides nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Carries out Physician orders including, but not limited to, assisting with procedures, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, taking patient calls, calling in prescriptions, coordinating, pre-certifying patients medical services and assisting with other day-to-day operations of the office. Supervises clinical and ancillary staff. Ensures practice compliance to all NYULMC, Joint Commission and DOH regulations, policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the hiring, training, disciplining, and supervision of Clinical and Ancillary staff to provide quality patient care. Ensures that performance appraisals are completed on a timely basis. May schedule other clinical staff. Evaluates staff competence performance according to policy.
    • Performs patient vital signs, ECG and other required tests, record patient history, obtain accurate medication list and any information the physician may request to enable him/her to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. Explains normal and abnormal test/lab results to patients and their significant others. Educates patient regarding medications, invasive and non-invasive procedures.
    • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked appropriately and ready for next patient; ensure equipment is clean/sterile and in working order.
    • Communicates with patients, visiting nurses and other physician offices.
    • Serves as a resource to clinical and non-clinical staff.
    • Schedules and processes paperwork for patient tests, cardiac catheterizations and other invasive procedures, labs, device procedures or office appointments. Calls in prescriptions. Arranges hospital admissions.
    • Priorities medical/emergency phone calls; handles according to office protocol.
    • Reviews all protocols to maintain quality control and patient safety, and to assist Physicians with patients compliance. Provides instruction in various protocols, necessary procedures, and possible complications.
    • Assists staff with assessing patient needs and developing a plan of care and assures proper documentation of all treatments, Nursing assessments and patient reactions.
    • Reviews patient charts including physical exams, lab reports, radiographic films/scans surgery and reports for relevant information and quality assurance.
    • Instructs Department staff of appropriate Nursing techniques therefore ensuring that patients are eligible for a particular treatment.
    • Collaborates with Physicians in evaluation of all patients for programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Registered Professional Nurse in New York; Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Five years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served; ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion addressing patient/family satisfaction; Progressive leadership; demonstrated in a leadership position or the potential for leadership competency; ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others; participation in service or departmental committees; evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving; Membership in pertinent professional organizations..

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $84,344.00 - $120,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
